National Honor Society

Membership is open to those students who meet the required standards in four areas of evaluation: scholarship, leadership, service, and character. Students who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher at the end of their sophomore or junior year will receive a mailed invitation in June.  Students who receive an invitation and are interested in becoming a member of the National Honor Society must:

  1. Service – students must complete 30 hours of community service. These acts of service must be: (1) unpaid, (2) benefit a business/organization outside of your home, (3) benefit the community or a previously unknown individual, and (4) not required for another organization to which you belong. Hours are to be tracked and verified by an adult supervisor using the Volunteer Hours Documentation Form. Service hours must be completed between June 1, 2023 and February 1, 2024. Click on "Current Volunteer Opportunities" below for upcoming ways to serve in the community.
  2. Character – students will provide 3 teacher recommendations on their Candidate Information Form.
  3. Leadership – students will complete the Candidate Information Form by September 1 and turn it into the NHS Sponsor, Mrs. Janet Crawford.

The National Honor Society Induction Ceremony will take place the second Wednesday in March.
