Maxine L. Potter, 95, of Huntertown, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020, at her home.

Born in Hicksville, OH, on May 6, 1924, to the late Fred and Florence (Carver) Wonderly. She spent her formative years in Mark Center, graduating from Mark Center High School.

Maxine was married to Walter Potter in Huntertown, on December 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on July 3, 1993.

She worked in group accounting for Lincoln Life for over 31 years. She also worked at the Huntertown United Methodist Church for over 20 years as the Financial Officer, retiring at the age of 90.

She was an avid sports fan and enjoyed Carroll High School Athletics. She was a big supporter of Walters Racing.

Maxine is survived by a daughter, Diane (Timm) Bilger; two sons, James Potter and Gary Potter; 13 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Claron Wonderly; two sisters, Phyllis Burd and Lucille Osmun.

A private family service will be held on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed as an event on the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home Facebook page.

The family will have a public celebration at a later time.

Burial taking place at Huntertown Cemetery, Huntertown.
