GUIDANCE: 

*NACS will be hosting a job fair on Saturday, Feb 29th, at Carroll Middle School from 10:00-2:00.  Volunteers are needed at this event to help with the Welcome/Information Desk and distributing handouts and surveys.  If you are interested in helping at this event, please sign up on the table outside of guidance by Feb 24th.

 

*Any student who has signed up for any of the following PFW dual credit classes for next school year should attend a meeting on Feb 26th in the Large Auditorium at 10:35.  You will need to sign out of homeroom and then sign in once you get to the large auditorium for the meeting.  This meeting is mandatory for those of you who have signed up for these specific classes for next school year:

Dual Credit Economics

Adv. English/Lang Arts College Credit Composition

Dual Credit U.S. History

Dual Credit Quantitative Reasoning

Dual Credit Precalculus

Dual Credit Trig

Dual Credit Finite Mathematics

Advanced Science College Credit Physics

Advanced Social Studies College Credit Sociology

 

For those of you who have signed up for any of the following classes, you are invited to attend the meeting if you are interested in receiving dual credit for these dual credit optional classes:

Digital Design II

Theatre Arts

Calculus

AP Calculus AB or BC

*Attention sophomores and juniors interested in a medical field and spending some time with a medical professional for 2 weeks over the summer at Parkview.  Juniors and seniors can apply for a summer internship program which will provide you this opportunity.  Just stop in the guidance office and see Mrs. Gerber to get more information!  Due date to get your application in is March 2nd.

*The Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo is hiring for the 2020 summer season and are searching for friendly and outgoing individuals to join their team!  They will be hosting a Job Fair on Saturday, March 7th, from 9:00a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Zoo Education Center.  A majority of hiring will take place at the Job Fair, so it is important to attend if you can.  However, applications will also be accepted prior to and following the Job Fair.  Stop in the guidance office for more information.

 

*Anyone students who are 16 or 17 years old, have at least a 3.0 GPA, and are interested in helping at the election polls on May 5th, should go to guidance to pick up the information and application.  Deadline to turn in the application is March 13th

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Please keep these things in mind in preparation for Friday’s basketball game at Homestead.

    • For those guys that have painted Carroll on their chest a couple times this winter…..shirts are required.  Please plan accordingly and don’t expect to be able to take your shirt off at Homestead.
    • For all Carroll students, because of space issues, your seating location will be located upstairs behind our bench.
    • For everyone, plan on getting there early to grab a seat.  A sell out is likely and once they close the doors, no one will be allowed inside.

ATHLETICS:  
*Attention Neon Nation:
The traditional last basketball game of the year has always been senior night for cheer, dance, champions together, pep band and boys basketball.  Along with that it is our biggest fundraiser of the year for Champions Together and Special Olympics Indiana.  The fundraiser goes towards helping Carroll High School maintain its status as a National Champions Together School.

Special Edition T-shirts will be available for only $10 (small-XL) or $12 (XXL-XXXL).  Shirts will get you into this huge event on 2/28 for free and support a great cause.  Be sure to get your shirt early before they run out! The Fieldhouse should be packed once again for this awesome event.

Shirts available in the CFC Commons before school and 10-12 lunches on Friday 2/21 thru 2/28 (while supplies last).

 

*Unified Track and Field and Unified Bowling --- Call Out Meeting on Monday, February 24th at 3:30 in the 10-12 cafeteria. Anyone interested in participating you need to attend this meeting. Email Coach Bodenstein if you have any questions.
