GUIDANCE: 
College and Military Representatives will be here during lunch time in the 10-12 Cafeteria. During your lunch go to the stage to visit with the representatives to learn more about their college or branch of service.

Apprenticeship Fair at Ivy Tech. Community College
On Friday, November 19th Ivy Tech is hosting an Apprenticeship Fair. If you are more of a hands-on person and interested in learning about a specific trade – an apprenticeship may be worth looking into. At the Fair – students will see live demonstrations on skilled trades, learn how apprenticeships can teach you a skill while you earn money, and talk with industry representatives. Students will be taking a bus from Carroll to Ivy Tech and back. You must sign up for this event outside of the 10-12 Guidance Office by October 22nd.

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Students Driving to School at this time:
You NEED to have a CHS student parking permit displayed in your vehicle. To purchase a permit ---- bring your driver’s licenses, vehicle registration for the car you are driving, and $30.00 cash or check to student services before or after school.

Teacher of the Month:
Students nominate your teacher for Teacher of the Month. Forms are available in 10-12 Student Services or at the CFC office.

 

FRESHMAN:
Semi-Formal
A special evening is right around the corner for our class, the semi-formal! Mark your calendars for November 13th! The theme is Fall Ball and it is going to be packed with fun! Tickets will be on sale November 1st-5th during lunches.  Cost is $20 per ticket! We hope to see you there! Bring your dancing shoes and a snazzy outfit!  More information will be coming.

 

CLUBS/ACTIVITIES:
BAND:
The band department is starting to prepare for its winter season activities – which include the Jazz 2 and 3 bands, jazz combo, winter percussion ensemble, and the winter guard programs. Students not currently in the band program are still eligible to become a member of one of these groups. If you are interested - go to the band web site www.carrollbands.org and look for the link entitled “Winter Band and Guard”. Questions? - contact Mr. Hassell or Mr. Frazier for more details.  

 

ATHLETICS:
*Volunteer Hours:
Are you looking for volunteer hours?  We are looking for help for Friday, October 29th (approx. 5:00-10:00) in the concession stand.  Contact Mr. Ginder in the Athletic Department.

*Gymnastics:
There will be a brief meeting in the cafeteria at 3:35 on Friday, October 22nd for anyone interested in trying out for the gymnastics team.

 

IN CHARGER ACTION:
*Congratulations to both the boys and girls cross country teams for finishing third place at Regionals to advance to the Semi-State this Saturday, October 23rd.

*The Charger volleyball team dominated sectionals to come away with their 13th straight win. They beat Dekalb in 3 sets and Snider in 3 sets including a set they won 25-2! Leading the Chargers were Ellie Frey with 15 kills and 6 aces, Summer Hendershot with 6 aces and 9 digs, Aliaya Saylor with 14 kills, Kaley Matney with 17 kills, 30 assists, and 6 aces, Emma F0rte with 5 kills and 6 blocks, Emory Guderian with 9 digs, Olivia Gisslen with 27 assists and 5 aces, and Brenna Ginder with 23 digs. 

*The JV football team defeated Wayne last night 25-0 bringing their final record to 6-2 on the season.

*Congratulations to the Charger Pride! On Saturday, they competed in the ISSMA Regional contest earning a gold rating. They also earned with distinction recognition in music, visual, and general effect. The band was one of only 7 in the entire state in their class to earn all three awards.  They will advance to the Semi-state at Ben Davis on Saturday October 30.
