GUIDANCE: 
*Ivy Tech is sponsoring an Apprenticeship Fair on Nov 15th from 9-2.  Students will learn all about how to apply to building trade apprenticeships, industrial apprenticeships, how Ivy Tech works with apprenticeships and classes that are recommended for students wanting to enter an apprenticeship. Students interested in this opportunity will need to complete a college visit form which are available in Student Services.  See your counselor for more information! 

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: 
*RAKtivists need donations of DUM DUM suckers for World Kindness Day. They can be dropped off in room 250 at the 10-12 building, and in the freshman office at CFC.

*10-12 Semi Formal: Saturday, November 16th at CHS from 8:00 to 11:00 pm.
Tickets for the 2019 Semiformal dance will be on sale Monday, November 4th - Friday, November 8th.  You can buy your ticket before school in the commons, or during lunch. 
CHANGES for BUYING TICKETS:
Students will only purchase INDIVIDUAL tickets. This means - you will purchase your own ticket even if you are attending with another CHS student. The ONLY people that can buy 2 tickets are students whose dates do attend CHS. Non-CHS guests must be under the age of 21 and must have a guest form submitted to attend.
No High School Freshman are allowed to attend the 10-12 semi formal.
Tickets are $15 each and are NON-TRANSFERRABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE. 

*Interested in traveling to Ireland, Scotland, England, and France in June of 2021?  Come to an informational meeting on Wednesday, November 6th in the MPR starting at 6:00 pm.  Bring a parent with you. Reservations are required (link included below). Spots are limited so sign up now! *Elf - The Musical:
He traveled through the Candy Cane Forest, and the Lincoln Tunnel, but is now travelling to Carroll High School! Buddy the Elf is making his way to CHS this November in the musical, Elf! Join Buddy, a grown man who thinks he is an elf, travel from the North Pole to be reconnected with his estranged father in the Big Apple! Come laugh at the hilarity of the situation as Buddy navigates a new city, dealing with New York citizens, finding his father, gaining a brother and a mother, meeting the love of his life, all while helping Santa by getting others into the Christmas Spirit. This hilarious musical is one that you will not want to miss! The show runs November 21, 22, and 23 at 7:00 and 2:00 on November 24. Tickets may be purchased at the door! 

 

 

 

FRESHMAN:
Freshman Semi-formal is November 16th from 7-10 at CFC.  TICKETS CAN STILL BE PURCHASED by going to see Mrs. Brubaker or Mrs. Gordy in the morning. AFTER FRIDAY NO MORE TICKETS WILL BE SOLD. 

 

CLUBS/ACTIVITIES:
*Are you interested in competing against other schools in Science? The Academic Superbowl SCIENCE Team will be testing its knowledge as it applies to scientific and technological advancements during the Roaring Twenties. If interested, please plan on attending one of two meetings in Rm 147 - Wednesday 6th after school at 3:40 PM or Thursday 7th morning at 8 AM. See Mr. Knorr if you have a conflict or questions. Additional topic information and competition format will be discussed.

*Carroll High School’s Japanese Club will be meeting on Wednesday during Activity Period.  We will be in Room 154 this week.  We will be enjoying Cup Noodles and some Japanese candy!  Please make sure to bring your $7 dues in order to attend.  See Mrs. Semba in Room 154 with any questions.

*CHS Speech and Debate Team Fundraising – support the team by buying Yankee Candles! You can order online by using the Group Code 990092059 at www.yankeecandlefundraising.com. Last day to order is November 11th.

 

ATHLETICS:  
*Any Student that would like to help with Champions Together Basketball this season --- 1st Practice will be TODAY Tuesday, November 5th. Meet in the commons at 3:30.

*Cross country athletes, the end-of-year awards night will be on Thursday, November 7, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Small Auditorium. All athletes and their parents are encouraged to attend.

*Sectional Final Football - Pre-sale tickets will be available in the Athletic Office TODAY thru Thursday (8 am- 3 pm). All tickets are $6.  No pre-sale tickets will be available on Friday. We can accept cash or check made out to Carroll High School.  We cannot accept credit card payment.
