Dave Ginder - Head Coach Overall Record - 400 wins 143 losses - .737 Winning %

Coach Ginder enters his 20th year as Head Coach after serving as an assistant for the previous six seasons at Carroll.  He is a 1991 graduate of Carroll High School and a graduate of Anderson University where he graduated with a Mathematics and Secondary Education degree and is currently in his 26th year of teaching math at Carroll.  Coach Ginder also holds his master’s degree in Administration.  As Head Coach, the Chargers have continued with their strong tradition of baseball success.  They have enjoyed ten sectional championships, four regional championships and three appearances in the final four and State Championships in 2010 and 2011.  He is married to Kristen and she is Surgical Case Coordinator for Parkview SurgeryONE.  They have a son Langston (22) and daughters, Drezdan (20) and Jantzyn (17). 

Brett Windmiller - Varsity Assistant

Coach Windmiller enters his 20th year on the Charger staff and 25th year overall. He is a 1991 graduate of Bishop Dwenger High School and has degrees from Huntington College and Ball State University. Coach Windmiller works with the catchers and hitters on both the varsity and reserve and leads the Chargers as the Mental Performance Coach. He teaches sixth grade science at Carroll Middle School and serves as a Team Leader. His wife, Kara, is the Athletic Secretary at Carroll High School. They are proud parents of their daughters Ryli (17) and Hannah (14).

Jason Lantz - Varsity Assistant

Coach Lantz is entering his 12th season coaching at Carroll. He graduated in 1991 from New Haven High School where he spent some time coaching at the JV and Varsity level. He has degrees from Ball State University, IPFW (Indiana University), and Indiana Wesleyan. Currently Coach Lantz is finishing his 25th year in education, the last 22 at Hickory Center and currently teaches math at Carroll Middle School. He is married to Keri who currently works as an Occupational Therapist for East Allen County Schools. They have 20-year-old twins Lincoln and Veronica.

Andy McManama -Varsity Assistant

Andy is in his 7th year as an assistant with the Charger program. Coach McManama graduated from Carroll High School in 2009 where he played baseball and football for the Chargers. Andy serves as the Director of Operations at the Blackstone Ranch in Roanoke, IN. Previously, Coach Mac was the Director of Operations at the World Baseball Academy in Fort Wayne, IN. Through the WBA, Coach Mac had the opportunity to take international baseball trips to Nairobi, Kenya ('13) and Kazanalak, Bulgaria ('12, '13, '15, '16, '17), working with the Bulgarian Baseball Federation and World Partners. He is a proud dog dad of Wrigley (12) and Ivy (7).

Sheldon Van Pelt - Head Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Van Pelt is entering his 3rd season of coaching at Carroll High School. He graduated from R. Nelson Snider High School in 1986. He played football and baseball. He attended Kankakee Community College playing baseball for 2 seasons for the Cavaliers. Coach Van Pelt's coaching experience spans over 18 years. He started his coaching journey at the JV and Varsity level @ Paul Harding HS (7), Northrop (2) and at Southside High School (9).  He currently works for City of Fort Wayne Street Department 

Austin Downing - Assistant Junior Varsity Coach

Coach Downing enters his 3rd year as an Assistant Coach at Carroll High School. He graduated from Iver C. Ranum High School in Denver, Colorado in 2010, where he played football and baseball. Austin served as a Varsity Baseball Coach for Westminster High School in Colorado for 3 years before moving to Fort Wayne in 2016. He is a graduate of Metropolitan State University of Denver where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management and also holds his Masters Degree from the University of Denver in Communication and Learning and Development. He currently works as a Project Management Consultant, where he collaborates with company executives to manage internal projects by assisting in reducing costs, maximizing efficiencies, increasing revenue, and optimizing processes. He is married to Erica who currently works as a Social Worker for Parkview.

Elliott Ford - Assistant Junior Varsity Coach

Elliott Ford is in his first year as an assistant coach for the Carroll Charger baseball program. Coach Ford was the catcher for the 2010 and 2011 State Championship teams and graduated from Carroll High School in 2012. He went on to play college baseball at Manchester University as their starting catcher all 4 years. During that time Elliott competed in the DIII College World Series in 2013 and was named all-HCAC catcher in 2015. Elliott graduated from Manchester in 2016 with majors in Accounting and Finance. He currently is a controller for Clifford Aggregate Inc. He is married to Paige who currently works at Parkview Noble as a clinical lab scientist.

Connor Adams - Assistant Junior Varsity Coach


Coach Adams is entering his first season on the Charger staff. He graduated from Noblesville High School in 2015 and received a degree from the University of Saint Francis-Fort Wayne in Mathematics (2020) and a master’s degree in Teaching (2021). Coach Adams will be working with the pitchers on the varsity and reserve and serving as an assistant on junior varsity. He is currently in his first full year of education at Most Precious Blood School where he teaches math and social studies. 

Dan Jones - Strength & Conditioning

Coach Jones graduated from Manchester High School in 2004 where he played baseball and football. He graduated from Manchester University in 2009 with degrees in Health and Physical Education (K-12) and Fitness Concentration and also played football. Before coming to Carroll he taught at LaVille High School and was an assistant football coach and head baseball coach. He has also taught at Franklin Central where he was an assistant football coach. Coach Jones is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Coach Jones is in his 7th year at Carroll and instructs all strength and conditioning classes at the high school, and works closely with the baseball program.  He is married to Cassie who is a NP for Parkview Urology.  They have two daughters: Lily (2) and Rosalie (1). 

Elliot Forth – Strength & Conditioning

Coach Forth is entering his fourth year in his teaching/coaching role after graduating from Ball State University in the spring of 2018. Elliot graduated from Huntington North High School in 2014 before pursuing his teaching degree at Ball State. While at BSU, Coach Forth interned with the football team’s strength and conditioning staff under head strength coach Ben Armer for over two years. Elliot also spent two summer internships at East Tennessee State University and Youngstown State University. Coach Forth earned his Master’s in Kinesiology & Sport Management in 2021 and has obtained certifications from the following organizations: National Strength & Conditioning Association, Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coaches Association, and USA Weightlifting. Elliot teaches intro and advanced strength & conditioning classes throughout the day while working alongside Coach Jones with all the after-school programs.
