*Hey Everyone --- help us collect Plastic Lids for the SpEd Department. The lids we need are from water bottles, pop bottles, laundry bottle lids etc. We will recycle the plastic lids and get a BUDDY BENCH for our school. You can drop off the lids in a box located in the commons or bring to Ms. Martin’s room – 127.


*Reminder to students who drive to school -----

Winter weather is here. Give yourself extra time to scrape your windshield, warm up your car……drive to school safely. Pay attention to weather forecasts at night and be prepared so you will not be late to school. You may have to RESET your alarm. J


*Attention juniors interested in taking AP Language & Composition next year: the AP Language & Composition classes are offering an educational trip to New York this next fall for students enrolled in the course.  Anyone interested in learning more about this amazing trip should attend a brief informational meeting on Thursday, January 23 in the Multi-Purpose Room before school at 8:00 or after school at 3:45.




*A new club for 2020: Friendship Bracelets began in central America and were first popular in the US in the 1970s. They are back! According to tradition, the person who receive a friendship bracelet has to wear it until it falls off, as this shows they appreciate the thoughtfulness of the friend who made and gave it to them. Beginners can join the club to learn the basics, and seasoned crafters can work on improving their skills and designing new and challenging patterns! Students must sign up outside room B10 by Tuesday, January 21st. First meeting is Jan. 22nd during activity period.”





*FCA --- Before school club meeting has been moved to THURSDAY this week at 7:30 am in the Multi-Purpose Room.




*The Carroll lady gymnasts placed third at the Homestead Invitational on Saturday.

McKinley Carroll taking 3rd on vault, 6th on bars, 3rd on beam, 6th on floor and 4th in All Around.

Ella Smith placed 4th on vault, 4th on bars, 6 on beam, 1st on floor and 3rd All Around. Olivia Reincke placed 4th on beam.




*The CHS Speech Team competed at Plymouth on Saturday with the following results:

  • Corbet Elkins placed 3rd in the Senate Chamber of District Congress, making him 1st alternate for Nationals Qualification.
  • Ethan Coleman placed 5th in the House Chamber of District Congress.
  • Noah Johnson placed 2nd in Extemporaneous Speaking.
  • Haylee Givens placed 10th in Dramatic Interp and 2nd in Humorous Interp.

The team earned an 8th Place Team Sweepstakes trophy. Great job! Wish the debate team luck at State Debate on the 24th/25th!
